Breast Cancer Awareness - Time to save the hooters

We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness, we all love to partake of the Pink movement during this month.  But we want to know is how YOU are going to keep the movement going throughout the year.

Below you will see a layout I did to remind me of the fear and lasting scars from numerous lump removals.  The scar is much larger than you can see but I wanted to keep this tasteful so my daughters might understand the fear and also the IMPORTANCE of regular self exams.

We would like to see each of you create a reminder for yourself the importance of self exams monthly.  It can be anything from a fridge magnet, to 12 little cuts to put on your yearly calendar, a layout, a card or even a shrinky dink charm to help you remember.

You will also see a small pile of gifts you can win by submitting your entry and becoming a follower.  Just link your creation and sign up to follow the blog and we will draw a winner on Nov 1st.  Please submit your entry by 11:59pm EST Oct 31st.

I used Create a Critter for the Owl, frog, pond, dragonfly and grass.  Calligraphy for the font.  Lacy labels for the scalloped ovals and Stand and Salute for the BC Ribbon.  All paper is one of the spring DCWV stacks.

Now for the prize

OK OK I can hear you from here, "ya that's a cute little pile of stuff but Oct 31st is not far away and I just don't know if I have the time to make something for that little pile"  Ok then, what if we throw in

I don't need to be in the drawing - but, I just found out this morning that I have breast cancer. I am having a double mastectomy next Friday. Just wanted to add the importance of mammograms and self-checking. I too have had 4 biopsies and have lots of scars. Lets Save the Hooters and find the cure!!! Hugs Sweety and hope you never have to have another biopsy.

What a suttle way to explain it to your family for future generations.

I made this shadow box frame and donated it to my local chapter of Relay for Life. As women we need to be diligent in taking care of our "girls". Thanks for the chance to enter. Love your LO, it is important that our daughters "remember" to "self exam". Let us hope that BC will be a faint memory to our future generations.

I am an honary member of the I don't win blog contest club, but I thought this was a good idea so I decided to rise to the challenge.

I decorated my calendar today in honor of your challenge. You can find details on my blog if you are interested. I did a bit of everything...used my imagine, my expression, shrinky dinks, ribbon, buttons, bling, paper brads...

I hope it will help inspire everyone to keep up with this. I know I can be bad aobut it, and I appriciate the inspiration to get my calendar marked :)

I made my card for brenda (brensdesign) it will remind me that I hope to never deal with what she is having to deal with. I circled the 28th (the day I was born) on every month on my calendar for this year and next year, it is to remind me to do my breast exam that day.

My kids are my reminder! :) I made this layout for breast cancer awareness month and a celebration of my children. I will also be making a blue and brown version with my ds. My cousin is sadly going through this right now. I pray that no one has to go through breast cancer or any cancer! I also participated in a blog hop this month to spread the word and this week there are over 11 pink projects on my blog. Also, scotch has donated a pink atg as a giveaway this week to one lucky folower. I hope I was able to help to save at least one life this month on top of my own! :) P&PT to all that have or are going through this as well as their loved ones and sadly those left behind grieving for their loss. (((HUGS)))

I am having a little trouble with the link thing - here is a link to my project http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/428618-af-wife/1678408-remember-card/?c=t

I used the Cricut cartridges Stand and Salute for the ribbon and Straight from the Nest for the flower. I also made 12 vinyl ribbons to be put on a calendar.
