We all know the calendar says it's Spring, so....where is it!! I will not let all this cold weather and snow bring me down, I won't I won't I won't!! {stressed to the max over this}
I will just keep crafting away all those winter blues and bring bright cheery colors into the house. I could have left my little leprechaun on the front door til next year {he's so cute} but Mason informed me that it's over with and it must come down. Yeah Yeah.... I probably should have hung up the "SNOW" banner he made at school, but I did not want to give in to Old Man Winter. It's Spring!!!
My new front door decor
I took some pics in the light box before I hung it up.
This is a 12x12 white canvas I purchased at Big Lots
Cor'dinations, Recollections, DCWV, SU!, Martha Stewart & Echo Park papers
I hand cut the mats that are on top {pink 11.5", kraft 11.25", green 11"}
ZigZag stitch all around the green mat before gluing them all together
April Showers cartridge for the butterflies{randomly cut 1.5" - 0.5"}
Birthday Bash cartridge font {1.5"}
Stretch Your Imagination cartridge for "Spring" {11"}
I altered this a little after it was cut out, I didn't want the tail of the "g" so long, so I snipped it and brought it in closer. I covered the seam with a butterfly.
I folded each butterfly in half and used Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry glue to run a bead down the seam I created and held it onto the paper for about 20 seconds. This way they give dimension and look like they are all flying. I did have to move a few as I was placing them. The Zip Dry came off very well without ripping the green paper, but at the same time is holding them all on tightly.
Here is a picture of it on my door. If you look closely I used some aqua satin ribbon and wrapped it around the edge of the entire canvas. I held it on each corner with Terrifically Tacky Tape {red tape}
Thanks for looking! I hope your home is being to look springy too.
