Today is the day my second child will graduate from Tom Thumb Preschool. I can't believe that its true. When Mason was 2, I saw the gym filled with chairs, the stage all prepped and thought...oh wow, it will be forever til you are up there. Boy was I wrong. Not only did his graduation come and go {he's finishing 2nd grade this year} it's now Emily's turn......
For the end of year present for Miss Missy, I used a project from the Cricut Circle blog as inspiration. It was adorable and I couldn't pass it up.
This is in an 8x10" frame from Ikea
I cut the blue cardstock {8x10} and the white {6.5x8.5}
I printed directly onto the white before putting this together
I used WORD, added text boxes to represent the letter and inserted the namesI added two yellow brads at the bottom
Zig Zag stitched around the two mats for texture
For the letter "M", I cut the letter {4"} from Nate's ABCs
Then I cut the pencils {4"} from Nate's ABCs also, using different colors
boy they took forever to put together!

I inked around all the pencils for some dimension
I layed out the pencils over the letter to see how they would fit best. I did have to do some trimming and there were some gaps between. I trimmed the letter around the pencils, to keep the look of the pencils.
I used some 3D foam behind the letter to help it stand out a bit.
I will be spending the rest of the day with my little graduate!
