I decided to enter another weekly challenge. I am sure that my chances of winning are pretty slim, since I won a few weeks ago. But ya know, I'm not entering to win.....I love crafting!
Weekly Challenge #24: St. Paddy’s Challenge!
Use rainbow colors OR a monochromatic green color scheme on your project. We also want to see you add a touch of gold somewhere on your project.
You can create any type of project you would like (layout, card, tag, altered project, mini album, etc.) but your project must be newly created for this challenge and include atleast 2 Cricut Image Cuts.
I decided to make a new door hanger
I have my greens, my rainbow, my gold and my Cricut cuts!!
I used Designers Calendar to cut the shadow x2 and base cut for the shamrocks {5"}
Inked the edges of both cuts and adhered together
The shadow is layered with 3D foam and the ribbon in between for better stability
Before I hung it up I took some better pics in the light box
The circle was cut shadow x2 and base layer with Designers Calendar {4"}
Inked edges and again, used my foam in between for stability
The leprechaun is cut from Simply Charmed {2"} using DCWV patterned papers and some scraps
I added some GOLD stickles to his button
I notch cut a small piece of ribbon and added a stamp from Studio G on white cardstock and then cut with a 1" circle punch. I used a clear embellishment bubble sticker on top of the stamp and wrapped with some bakers twine
The white flag is hand cut from white cardstock, inked and stamped with another Studio G stamp
I used Zip Dry to glue down the twine
This is the same {4"} circle as cut from above
The pot and rainbow are cut from Simply Charmed {3.75"}
Used my white Gelly Roll to stitch along the rainbow
The horseshoe is cut from Create A Critter {1.5"} and layered with 3D dots
"LUCK" is some letter brads I had, but I snipped off the clasps and used my 3D dots to adhere them
Bakers Twine and a green button held on with a glue dot.
I cut the gold pieces twice to layer for dimension and added gold stickles and tried to draw in some of the lines from the cut.
I used a 1.5" wide satin ribbon as the hanger for this. I folded over the top and used a D ring {like I used on Emily's belt post} and sewed that on top of the ribbon.
I increased my stitch length and tighten my pressure on my sewing machine so that I could sew down the center of the ribbon and ruffle it up a little.
After I had all the sewing done, I laid the back shadow piece {shamrocks and circles} down, laid the ribbon on top, taped it down, added mounting foam tape and then added the finished layers on top.
Thanks for reading that crazy long post and good luck to all my Circlets!!!
