We just can't stop!!

We can't stop making ornaments!!!!!!!

1. Because it's fun
2. It's just so easy

The kids have been making ornaments everyday in December so far, and I am sure it will continue. Thank goodness they are lightweight or the tree would probably fall over.

Mason (7) has been nice enough to reach high and stand on chairs to decorate the top of the tree, while Madeline (2) insists they all be on the same branch :) We have been making all sorts of ornaments, and have lots more in mind. Here's a quick run down of some of our new additions.

Felt Pom Poms

Super simple. Cut any length of felt or fleece. Snip the sides of it to your desired width. Make sure there is at least 1/4" in the center that is not cut. (Cut this like you would the fringe blankets) Roll it up tight, wrap some thread around it tight and tie. Puff it out and TADA! They look really cute.

Candy Canes

If they were real candy canes, I doubt the kids would keep them on the tree! I found these pipe cleaners at JoAnn's, already twisted. The pack had both red/white and green/white, for A BUCK!! I snipped these down and let the kids curl them up. Very fast, very easy. If you can't find the ones already twisted, just take your two colors and wrap them around each other.

Beaded Snowflakes
^ Mason's ^

This too was a kit I purchased at Michael's. It came with a ton of beads, the wires already in "snowflake" form and little rubber ends to keep them from poking and the beads from falling off. I was SHOCKED at how well Madeline (2) did with these. Keep this in mind if you are thinking of something for your younger ones. I am lucky though, she would NEVER think to put them in her mouth....but I know that is a concern for some.

Thanks for coming by!
